Easy Peasy Christmas Learning Activity
I have a 5.5yo and a 3yo at home. Half the time, they want to do the same whatever the other sibling is doing. Because of this I’m constantly thinking of how to replicate and adapt the activities for multiple children with different learning goals. If you have 2 or more kids, you are going to love this Dot Stickers Christmas Tree! With just small changes to the set up, I got this activity ready for 2 kids in less than 5 minutes.
5 Learning Ideas for Kids of Different Ages
1) Sticker Line up
Perfect fine motor skills activity for young toddlers to peel the little dot stickers off and stick them on the line.
2) Color Matching
Using dot markers, make some colored dots on the line and invite your toddler to stick the dot stickers on the dots of the same color.
3) Letter/ Number/ Sight words Matching
This is a fun way for the older toddlers or preschoolers to learn their letters, numbers or sight words. Write letters, numbers or words on the line and on the dot stickers. Increase the challenge by doing uppercase/ lowercase letter matching.
4) Complete the Pattern
Using dot markers, make simple patterns (ABAB, AAB, BAA, AABB) on the line. Leave some space at the end of each line for the kid to continue the pattern. Invite your child to first stick dot stickers of the same color as the dot paint and continue the pattern on the line with more dot stickers.
5) Christmas Countdown
Write number 1 to 25 on the line and on the dot stickers. Everyday in December, give your child a new dot sticker in consecutive numbers. On Dec 1, give the dot sticker with 1 written on it, on Dec 2, give the dot sticker with 2 written on it and so on until Dec 25 Christmas Day! It’s a fun way to count down to Christmas and great way to practice counting 1 to 25.
