    Got some pinecones? Let your child get creative and explore the beauty of nature with this art activity. Process art focuses on the creative journey, valuing the act of creating over the final outcome. All you need is to lay a piece of paper in a tray, get your child to add some blobs of paint on to the paper and roll the pinecone around the tray.

    Get your child to experiment with different size paint splotches or with more pinecones for different outcomes. 

    Fall theme activity 2: Autumn Leaf Suncatcher (Artful Parent)

    Go on a nature walk with your child to collect some fall foliage, and stick them on some contact paper to make these easy nature suncatchers. Fresh autumn leaves are beautiful, vibrant, and full of color, making these autumn suncatchers an attractive addition to your fall decor.

This creative and interactive approach to learning maths not only makes the subject more engaging but also connects children with nature, making the learning experience more holistic and enjoyable.

    All you need are some pinecones, pom poms and containers for your child to sort the pom poms into. To extend the learning, you can also get your preschooler to count the pom poms and add them up.

    Fall theme activity 5: Leaf Counting Wands (Happy Toddler Playtime)

    Besides talking about all the different shades of red, orange, yellow and brown of fallen leaves, you can also use them to make counting wands for your preschooler. It’s a great hands-on activity for your child to practise counting and work on their fine motor skills.

    Develop early Math skills with this one to one correspondence and number recognition activity. It’s as simple as using a sharpie to write on fallen leaves and getting your child to clip clothes pins that correspond to the written number.
