Activities for Kids to learn about Singapore
1) Singapore – Our Home
Ages: 3 to 6 years old
Answer the 4 questions on the printable and draw your home, family, favorite place and favorite local food on the Singapore map. For younger preschoolers, parents can help to draw and your children can color the drawings. Or you can be your child's scribe and have them tell you the things they love and you write them down. This helps them develop early literacy skills by connecting the written word with having meaning.
2) Dot Stickers Merlion
Ages: 2 to 6 years old
Merlion, a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, is the official mascot of Singapore. In this activity, children add scales (dot stickers cut in half) to the Merlion and color it. For the older preschoolers, they can also trace the word ‘Merlion’.

7) Singapore Coins
Ages: 2 to 6 years old
Let’s take a closer look at our Singapore coins. Older preschoolers will sort and place the Singapore coins on the correct circles. Then count how many of each coin there are and write the numbers in the table. Talk about what you can buy with various combinations of coins.
For younger toddlers, make a coin drop container for them to hone their fine motor skills. Let them pick up and drop the coins into the small slits on the container cover.
8) Racial Groups and Food in Singapore Bingo
Ages: 2 to 6 years old
For the older preschoolers, this is a fun game to learn more about the different types of traditional food we see in Singapore, from the four major racial groups: Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian. Spin the pointer on the spinner and identify the racial group the pointer is pointing to. Cover a food from this group with a block. Game ends when a row and a column of food are covered.
For the younger toddlers, print two copies of the bingo sheet. Cut out each traditional food for one of the bingo sheets. Invite your little one to find and match the food.
