Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

We are missing snow here but that doesn't mean we can't have fun 'building' a snowman! With toilet paper rolls, 10 minutes and a free printable (#youarewelcome), you can make this clever Counting Snowman DIY toy too.

From little toddlers to older kindergarteners, this Counting Snowman Activity will make counting absolutely fun for everyone!

(Scroll down for the Counting Snowman Activity free printable and tutorial)

Snowman Activity to Learn Counting and Addition

young toddlers can stack their snowman as high as they want

Do you have little toddlers at home? They can stack and build a snowman, as tall or as short as they like. This activity is a perfect chance to introduce comparative terms like short or tall, shorter vs taller to young children.

For young preschoolers who are learning to count, invite them to count the buttons on the snowman and add on the hat with the matching number. Building your child's number sense will lay a good foundation of early math.

The number on the hat of the snowman matches the number of buttons

For bigger kids who are ready to take on the addition challenge, stack on more snowman bodies, add up the buttons on the snowman and find the hat with the correct answer.
